I also teach Science in primary, and in my school we prepare some topics with experiment, that the student can do in the class and also at home. Today I want to explain some of them to you. It is the number one of a new series in the blog.
For example, this experiment is useful when we talk about the water, like the water cycle, or the ways we can find water in nature. Also, when we talk about the matter and the different states (solid, liquid and gas).
You need the following things:
- A transparent plastic bag with a zip.
- A permanent marker.
- Food colorant.
- Sticky tape.
In the bag, the first thing you have to do is to write the name of every student in their bag and they can draw the sun, clouds and the sea.
Then, they have to fill with water till the draw of the sea. You add some drops of the food colorant. And firmly close the bag with the zip.
After that, you can stick the bag with the tape on a window glass. And you observe the bag every day. As you can see, the water will start to evaporate and form drops inside the bag, when the clouds are drawn. So they can see the process of the water cycle and the change of states of water in nature.
